As I am writing this blog, I am looking out at the dumping of snow we got last night. It looks beautiful but the wind has picked up and it is cold and blustery. It is a perfect day to spend on the couch in front of the fireplace, but I unfortunately need to run out to grab a few things from the grocery store.
I normally would tie a knit scarf around my face but because we are still required to wear a face mask, I don’t want to go through the hassle of pulling down the scarf and putting one on. Plus, I can’t stand the scratchy acrylic on my sensitive skin or the way the scarf holds the moisture from my breath. Yuk! Luckily, I found an ideal winter mask from Effort’s Eco-Essentials that will keep me warm and protected at the same time.
They have come out with a new mask that is geared towards winter. Here are a few points about this mask that may make you want one too!
1. Made from Eco-Friendly Hemp
The mask is made from heavy hemp fleece that will protect from the winds and cold. When the day comes that we no longer need our masks, hemp will biodegrade unlike other disposable masks.
2. Moisture Wicking and Insulating
Hemp is naturally moisture wicking. This makes it ideal for a face mask as it absorbs the moisture from the breath, keeping your face dry and comfortable. It also has insulating properties that will keep your face warm and toasty.
Hemp is a breathable fabric. This mask will allow you to breathe and not suffocate you.
Hemp material is hypo-allergenic and won’t irritate the skin like other masks do. A hemp mask is great for those with sensitive skin.
5. Anti-Microbial and Odor Resistant
Hemp is naturally anti-microbial and resistant to bacteria. The hemp mask will fight germs and bacteria, preventing odor from forming.
6. Comfortable but Snug Fit
The ear loops fit around your ears to give the mask a snug fit without tugging. The double layers are specifically designed for nose comfort.
7. Washable and Reusable
Hemp is the strongest of all the natural fibers. You can wash this mask over and over and it will maintain its shape. A bonus is that the more you wash hemp the softer it becomes.
This mask will not only protect you from the elements this winter but will also help to protect yourself and others from the spread of the virus. Of course, you’ll need to continue washing your hands and social distancing but at least you can stay toasty warm doing it!
