Eco-fashion is sustainable and ethical fashion that Effort’s Eco-Essentials has been proudly creating for over 20 years. The meaning of sustainable is conserving ecological balance by avoiding the depletion of natural resources. Hemp clothing comes from nature – the most useful plant in nature – the cannabis sativa species that is grown specifically for the industrial uses, which is why it’s called industrial hemp. Industrial hemp is sustainable because it grows rapidly and does not require chemicals due to a dense root system which naturally fends off pests. Hemp also replenishes the soil and air. Now that’s sustainability!
Our fashions are ethical because we care about the earth, our customers and the workers in the factories who are paid and treated fairly. Effort’s Eco-Essentials has an array of hemp and bamboo clothing for men and women to fit almost any need. We’ve trademarked Eco-Essentials to show that our line of clothing is eco-friendly and we specialize in classic pieces that are essential to every wardrobe — t-shirts in an array of sleeve lengths and colours, drawstring pants, shorts, hoodies, leggings, skirts, dresses, robes, nightgowns and the list goes on.
Feel good about what you wear knowing the earth has not been poisoned by the fossil fuel-based process used to make polyester and acrylics, processes that requires plenty of water, chemicals and energy. Be aware of what you wear and what the manufacturing of synthetic fabrics does to the earth, the people that process the clothing and what they breath, the oceans, lakes, rivers and streams. Processes that are slowly poisoning wildlife with chemicals, as well as the fibres that come off the clothing in the wash. It’s true, and we do not hide the fact that bamboo is a semi-synthetic, coming from a natural source but requiring a chemical process to soften the wood into a fibre. At the same time, bamboo is clearly more sustainable than synthetic alternatives.
